What is card grading?

Card grading is the process of authenticating, encapsulating, and assigning a quality score or ‘grade’ to collectible trading cards based on their condition.

The score is usually given on a scale of 1 to 10, and it is based on a number of factors related to the state of the card. The greater the score and, as a result, the higher the value of a card, the better its condition.
